Executive Team

Kit Walker, Chief Executive Officer
Kitson “Kit” Walker has a unique insight into the entertainment business. His roots reach all the way back to Jamaica, where his cousin Coxsone Dodd, was the premiere producer and label for Bob Marley and many other reggae artists. The inspiration drawn from this background was a key ingredient in the formation of W Entertainment, Inc., a multi-faceted entertainment management and consulting company.

Kitson has gained a wealth of experience working in various aspects of the business. Starting as a financial consultant with Ultra Image, Inc. (an independent film production company founded by Bille Woodruff), Kitson has used his experience and expertise to create an extensive network of contacts within both the film and music industries.

Following Ultra Image, Kitson worked as Managing Director for Ideal Promotions, a family owned business with its headquarters in Toronto, Canada. Ideal specialized in concert promotions and live theatre productions. While there, Kitson continued to pursue and complete his undergraduate degree. During this time he fine-tuned many skills in production, budgeting, writing, directing that would later come in handy in establishing his entertainment management company.

An alumnus of the University of Maryland at College Park, Kitson received a bachelor’s degree in Urban Economic Development with a minor in Entertainment. It was this environment that further nurtured Kitson’s dream of starting a management company providing representation that could be trusted. The idea was to build a family, not just a company. Kitson has an MBA from Woodbury University in California and is a Certified Treasury Professional. He served as a Relationship Manager overseeing a 3.5 Million Dollar portfolio. Most recently he has produced segments through W Entertainment Inc. for BETs Turnstyle.

Kitson has spent the past 14 years learning and developing, with many different players – both large and small in all aspects of the entertainment industry. He’s consulted for small startup labels, aided in the development of artist contracts and publishing deals, structured record labels and distribution deals, and developed marketing and promotion plans for various projects nationally and internationally.

In addition to running W Entertainment (including its umbrella companies – Long Walk Music Publishing, and Zephryn Records), Kitson worked at Sony Pictures Entertainment while residing in Los Angeles. He spent his days working on the approval process of financing for major studio projects. In his capacity as a Treasury Analyst he accounted for millions of funding dollars for various movies and shows we see everyday.

Kitson also spent months in an “agent training” program for Feature Literary Agents. He was able to develop his knowledge of the script writing process, as well as provide coverage on scripts pitched to all the major studios in Los Angeles. This exposure to major development executives gave him a broader understanding of the development process. This was put to use when he went to work completing the feature length screenplay “Kids From Foreign” with his partner Keith Lawson.

He is also co-creator of the popular and controversial reality hit, “Committed: The Christies” about NBA Star Doug Christie and his wife Jackie.
