Gifted saxophonist, talented writer and charismatic contemporary performer, Phillip ‘Doc’ Martin, is sensational. This new indie artist plays and performs with the heart and soul of a veteran. Like most began playing his horn at a young age. Through the years, Phillip has been in overdrive, working diligently to perfect his craft. His hard work and determination is finally paying off. Since his first release in 2003 “Saxappeal” and his sophomore CD “Pride & Joy” released in 2007; Phillip has been unstoppable, and has quickly begun making lasting impressions in the jazz community, while becoming a favorite amongst veteran performers such as George Benson and admired by his fellow contemporaries. In the studio, Phillip has worked with Darren Rahn and Tony Hemmings, two of the hottest writers and producers in the industry, turning out top chart rating hits, and giving Phillip an opportunity to be recognized and played on leading jazz and internet stations across the world.
